This year, I attended the Rainbow Book Fair in New York City where I was on a panel moderated by Amos Lassen titled Queer Sleuths. The panel was a great experience, fun and fascinating. Flying back to California, I began to wonder if it might be a good idea to start a blog about Queer Sleuths in order to help promote a genre I love. I’ve decided to give it a try. So, here it is, a blog about Queer Sleuths. Or to put it another way, GLBT Mysteries.

Both writers and readers are welcome to contribute. I’m going to start with the tabs Gay Mystery Promo and Lesbian Mystery Promo. I’ll be creating other tabs as needed. For instance, if a writer sends me a promo for a Transexual Mystery I’ll create that tab. If someone wants to write a short article about mystery writers they love, particularly those from the past, I’ll create a tab appropriate to that – probably something like “Talking Mysteries.”

The only hard and fast rule I want to make at this point, though I may make others in the future, is no flaming. Controversy is fine, as long as, everyone is civil. I do reserve the right to ask that comments be re-written to ratchet down the rhetoric.

  2. This sounds wonderful, Marshall. I’ll get my things together and send them on to you. Thank you for the opportunity.

  3. Have set you up so I can follow through RSS. As a gay mystery reader I am always looking for more info. I list my collection on LibraryThing, and the another gaymyatery collector has an excellent site there as well.
